Sanremo, February 2009
There’s a growing expectancy for the 2009 edition of the Sanremo Italian music Festival, from February 17th to the 21st. There will be surprises, changes, absolute premieres and a new conductor.
The 2009 Festival will be guided by Paolo Bonolis, an important name in Italian Television, that has conducted the same review a few years ago.
There will be many novelties, starting from who will accompany Bonolis on stage. There are murmurs around Luca Laurenti, a long time friend of the conductor, and on the women’s side there are voices talking about five ladies, one for each evening, who’s identities though are still unknown.
The debutants of the Young category will have an extra chance to make themselves known to the public. Their songs will be in fact on air the week before on the radio and through the Internet.
A sense of competition is back with direct exclusions among the “Big” category as well as the Young one. The Jury starting from this year will be present inside the Ariston Theatre.
The guests with which invitations are trying to be made should be Roberto Benigni, Angelina Jolie, Eddie Murphy, Woody Allen and others still kept secret.
The lovers of the After Festival talk show should put their hearts at peace, since it won’t be featured in the 2009 edition.
