Rich and impressive like every year, Apricale’s summer events calendar, made of music, theater, important exhibitions fill the summer nights of the hinterland. Sunday 30th July at 09.00 p.m. date with the sounds of the Concerto in decentramento del 43° festival internazionale di Cervo at the Lucertola’s Castle, Aulos Ensembles (flutes quartet), Sonia Zichella, Paolo Squiraccini, Simone Stracka, Angela Longo (flutes), Megan Metheney (harp), on the musics of Eugene Bozza, Jacques Castered, George Bizet, A.C. Debussy, J.S. Bach, M. Ravel, etc.

Like every year the main show of Apricale’s summer is back, the XVII theatrical show’s edition “…and the stars watch too – Pinocchio, keep on walking” from the Saturday 6th August untill Wednsday 16th August. Directed by Tonino Conte, episodes by Carlo Collodi, scenes by Guido Fiorati.

For those who like dialect theatrical comedies, two main events, Friday 18th August at 09.00 p.m., a show presented by “U testamentu deu Barba Pepin”, a dialectical theater company, playing in the village’s main square. Saturday 19th August at 09.00 p.m., in the main square as well, “E rose du misteru”, a dialect comedy by Bordighera’s resident theater compay taken from “Two dozens of red roses” by A. De Benedetti. url

From 27th August until 1st October 2006 an important exhibition will take place at the Lucertola’s Castle rooms: “Federico Zandomeneghi’s exhibit in Apricale”, the city of Apricale in cooperation with the Art gallery Sacerdoti di Milano and its director Ippolito Edmondo Ferrario will organize an exposition of drawings, oil paintings and pastels of the artist’s parisian impressionist period. A high level exhibit, considering that, the last painter’s antology has been in Rome by Bramante’s exposition from November 2005 until March 2006.

Federico Zandomeneghi, born in Venice (1841) lived in Paris, has been one of the few italian artists who fully lived the prosperous artistic time in Paris by the end of the 19th Century. The exposition is mainly about Zandomeneghi’s grafic creations, made of 31 drawings. Main theme of the artist’s works is the woman in all her aspects. In Apricale’s exhibition will also be displayed paintings such as “Le tub”, “La lettre”, “Femme tenant un bouquet”…
