Battaglia dei Fiori in Ventimiglia

The 46th Flower Battle of Ventimiglia is assuming shape on the weekend from June 13th to the 15th, days of great events and appointments full of allure that will reach the top with the flower floats parade of Sunday afternoon.

The manifestation this year will be dedicated to “The Divine Comedy” of Dante Alighieri, and as a novelty for 2008 a prize called “The Golden Carnation City of Ventimiglia” has been instituted, which will be assigned to Italian figures that have distinguished themselves in the world of culture, art and research.

The evening of Friday, June 13th will be dedicated to a musical performance and then afterwards a visit to the working yards where the floats are being constructed.

Saturday 14th there’s a night parade of the flower floats starting from 9.30 PM and fireworks at 11 PM.

Sunday 15th in the morning from 10 AM to 12 AM there’s a marching band parade and folk groups; at 4 PM there’s the great parade and the final flower battle.

From 9 PM on the “Palco Rotonda Resentello” there will be the prize ceremony and dancing night.

For the entire month of June the city of Ventimiglia is proposing events related to the Flower Battle, from Sunday, June 1st to Monday 16th there are big and small events open to everyone.
