Imperia, November 2007. “A tasteful walk in the center of Imperia discovering the historical, cultural and nutritional values of olive oil, bread and the typical products of the Ligurian Riviera”.
Great expectancy for the seventh edition of Olioliva, an event dedicated to quality extra virgin olive oil that is proudly produced in the province. For the 2007 edition there’s great news and a constant quality growth that make Olioliva one of the most important events of the capital town. The main objective consists in the evaluation of extra virgin olive oil of the Taggiasca variety, (the Liguria region counts 10 thousand small producers for over 10 thousand acres, for a business of over 5 million liters of olive oil for around 40 million €), a target that has been reached in the past editions that have seen over 70 thousand visitors.
Olioliva is part of the national circuit that is called “Bread and Oil at the Mill and…” created by the National City of Olive Oil Association in over 120 Italian Squares. In the following part we mention a couple of appointments of the event. For further information, please visit www.olioliva.tv
From November 20th to the 25th : themed and educational workshops, cooking classes.
From November 21st to the 25th : conferences on health/olive oil issues, agriculture, olive tree landscape. “Write the olive oil landscape” competition.
From November 23rd to the 25th : Fair and exhibit event in the streets and in the Squares of the Historical center and on the Ancient Seaport of Imperia Oneglia. On the Sea dock there’s an olive oil, bread and flat bread sampling. Guided visits inland towards Businesses and Oil Mills.
The event, a real open salon to Ligurian extra virgin olive oil, is organized by the chamber of Commerce of Imperia and by the Liguria region with the contribution of the province of Imperia, of the city of Imperia, the Unioncamere Liguria and the National Association Olive Oil City.
