“New Year’s Eve under the Riviera Sun”
Program:
1st day: 12/29/2007 – Arrival in the late afternoon and check-in the chosen hotel. Dinner at the hotel.
After dinner it will be possible to challenge your luck at the Casino; please ask for the “Sanremo Cards” as soon as you check in the hotel.
3rd day: 12/31/2007 – The Magic of the Principality
Morning trip to the village of Eze for a guided visit of the labs of the Fragonard perfume factory.
Continuation to the Principality of Monaco. Visit of the Rock, with it’s majestic Cathedral, built in the year 1875 with white rock of the Turbie.
At 11.55 am it is possible to assist to the spectacular ceremony of the changing of the guards in front of the Royal Palace.
Free lunch. In the afternoon you can’t miss a stop in front of the elegant Place du Casino, all decorated for the festivities.
3rd day: 12/31/2007 – New Year’s Eve in Sanremo
Morning visit to the Gardens of Villa Ormond: built by the Rambaldi family of Sanremo, the villa had been ceased to the Ormond family of Paris in 1887: the park, recently restored, has been therefore modeled upon the French style of the late 1800’s. The plants that color the garden come from all over the world.
The visit continues through Sanremo’s historical district: La Pigna. It has been one of Italo Calvino’s favorite places, whom describes it in one of his books: “I sentieri dei nidi di Ragno” (the paths of the Spider nests).
Afterwards, reaching the summit of the Sanctuary of the Holy Mary of the Coast, protector of all sea men, you can enjoy a wonderful view.
Lunch at the restaurant. Your afternoon will consist in shopping along the main streets and to relax while walking by the shop windows all decorated for the festivities.
Return at the hotel, San Silvestro dinner with live music for the entire duration of the party. Overnight stay.
4th day: 01/01/2008 – Happy New Year 2008!!! – After tasting the buffet breakfast, departure.
