Principality of Monaco, June 2011
The new Ocean Mania – Souvenirs from mysterious seas exhibit will stay open until September 30th in two different museums, the Oceanographic Museum and Villa Paloma in the Principality of Monaco.
It’s a project born from the inspiration of an American artist, Mark Dion, whose ocean studies have united the two places which host the exhibition.
Inside the Oceanographic Museum there’s a huge “curiosities cabinet” which is traced upon the “room of wonders” from the Renaissance, while at Villa Paloma there’s an itinerary divided into four chapters (Captain Nemo, Mysterious Sea, Daavy Jones’ treasure and Trips into Dangerous Seas) which host the works of twenty artists.
