Morning transfer to La Mortola to visit the\u00a0Hanbury Gardens<\/strong>, the biggest botanical park in Europe and the creation of the English gentleman Sir Thomas Hanbury at the end of the XIX century. Here you will find yourself in a mini paradise, a garden of marvels, a botanical park unique around the world in which you will find a mass of plants and flowers. Don\u2019t forget to take your camera as it would really be a shame not to immortalize one of the best parts of this day.<\/p>\n

On to\u00a0Dolceacqua<\/strong>\u00a0where you will be waited on at the table of a local trattoria to taste some specialities of the valley accompanied by a local wine; the rich ruby red il Rossese.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon you can visit the wonderful medieval village dominated by the ruin of Castello dei Doria. Dolceacqua knows how to awaken hidden secrets where history and art are crammed into a world that remains untouched.<\/p>\n

Day three<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the morning you will visit the heart of the historical centre in San Remo:\u00a0la Pigna<\/strong>. Dear to Italo Calvino who told the story of \u201cThe Path to the Nest of Spiders\u201d, la Pigna still today has preserved its fascinating medieval village and allows the more curious tourists to discover a San Remo unedited. Winding streets and steps, arches and buttresses, secluded piazzas and tranquillity. Finally the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Costa, protector of the sea, erected on the highest point of the city, looks over a spectacular panorama.<\/p>\n

For your lunch, we suggest an enoteca situated in the historical centre where it is possible to taste local specialities such as a particular pizza and farinata.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon begins our tour of the boutiques of Sanremo. High end- five star luxury will greet you from the windows of the most famous and expensive shops in the city. Take your Sanremo card with you as it might help you to realise some of your wildest shopping fantasies.<\/p>\n

Day four<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the morning you can visit the magical\u00a0Principality of Monaco, Monte Carlo<\/strong>. Like a spell, the key of the Principality will fall from the sky into your pockets and permit you to open the doors to a rich and colourful history. We suggest a visit to the \u2018Rocca\u2019, the old city where you can watch the changing of the guard in front of the Palazzo del Principe (Prince\u2019s Palace). Then a pause for lunch in one of the trattorias scattered around the old city where the Riviera\u2019s tastes unite with traditional French cuisine.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon we can recommend a trip to the marvellous\u00a0Giardino Esotico<\/strong>(Exotic Gardens), rich in over 6,000 varieties of plantlife and cacti coming from all over the world. From the garden you can also get wonderful views of the coastline that take in Monaco, the French and Italian Rivieras.<\/p>\n

On to\u00a0Cannes<\/strong>; the city of the film festival and luxury where you will stay in a 3 or 4 star hotels.<\/p>\n

After breakfast we can recommend a boat trip to the\u00a0Isles of L\u00e9rins<\/strong>. Saint Marguerite and Saint Honorat will be pleased to welcome you to their island rich in natural beauty. The island is a protected marine park. Don\u2019t forget to climb up to the VI century abbey home to Cistercian monks.<\/p>\n

Lunch in a characteristic trattoria or one of the famous restaurants in the main piazza where you will be presented with an array of colours and Mediterranean perfumes and tastes to delight your palate.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon a boat trip will take you from Portofino to the\u00a0bay of San Fruttuoso<\/strong>, a tiny fishing village. The abbey and the 5th century Torre dei Doria are both worth a visit. The abbey was owned by the Doria-Panphili family for many centuries but was donated to FAI in 1986 which has lead the restoration work and reopened the abbey to the public.<\/p>\n
